Sorry if this question sounds so stereotypical, but it's something I've noticed much too often.

I've never noticed that this is something limited or even more frequent among "white people," but the true question here is about not washing hands in the restroom, and the reason is this:

There have been several scientific studies conducted that indicate there are actually more bacteria present in a public restroom sink than there are in the toilet. And I've been in some restrooms where it was obvious that the sink had been used for much more than just washing hands, so what's the use in "cleaning" oneself in that?

My personal policy? If I walk into a restroom like that, I'll grab a clean handtowel (if available) or perhaps some clean toilet paper and use it to let myself right back out the door without doing my business. Otherwise, I use the sink and wash my hands. Have I ever used the restroom and not washed my hands? Yes, a time or two when I went into an otherwise clean restroom but found that a recent patron had mis-used the sink and it was filthy. In that case, my attempt would be to find some hand-santizer or wet wipes and to alert someone at the store as to the problem so that it could be solved.

It does sound stereotypical and, as a white person, I am offended. I have noticed many other people, besides white, that don't wash their hands in public restrooms ( I do, thank you very much). So instead of stating your question to specifically white people, you should ask why some people in general don't do this action.

People whose skin looks white might be dead. You can't expect a dead person to wash their own hands, can you?
I wash mine several times a day, but I'm not sure where I fit into your color-coding system. In some public washrooms, like the ones where the faucet is filthy or there isn't any soap, I think my hands are probably cleaner before I touch the germ-infested sink.
As a hint, if you don't want to sound like you're stereotyping, don't use racial identifiers in the way you word a question.

I am white and I incest on washing my hands every where I go. As a matter of fact in public not only do Iwash my hands I will not open the bathroom door without a paper towel, because who knows how many people didn't wash their hands and touched that door. I also will not sit on a toilet with out wiping it down because who knows if the person before me has some kind of infection. If there is no way for me to wipe it down then I won't sit on it, I justlean towards the seat and pee. My family says I have a problem, because I do this!!

I don't know what you're talking about. I work in an office with about 40 other people. About two thirds are white. I've never seen anyone leave the bathroom without washing their hands. I've gone to the bathroom four times today and washed my hands each time. I see white people washing their hands in public bathrooms all the time. Do you honestly think white people don't wash their hands? What about the ones who work in food service? You think they JUST REFUSE to wash their hands in the restaurant's public bathroom then go back to the kitchen are prepare food for the public? I guess you better not eat out anymore. Thanks for the two points racist. Bye bye.

I've never heard of anyone refusing to wash their hands. From time to time I notice someone who walks out of the restroom without washing, but it's not always a "white" person.

Stereotypical? Yeah. Right. White people refuse to wash their hands in public washrooms. That's a stereotype that I've never heard of. Maybe because it has absolutely no foundation. I don't know where you've done your observations, but you sound like you need to get out a little more.

Yet another tidbit of over-generalization. By this, I take it you mean you saw two white people leave a public restroom without washing their hands?
There has NEVER been a survey on the racial relationship of handwashing and color. Because it's simply impossible to make those sorts of generalizations. They aren't fact. They aren't even theory. They're just a silly statement that you have made.

I don't know where your washing your hands but in the public restrooms I've been in white, black, yellow, brown most of the people I see wash their hands. So I have to ask DO YOU WASH YOUR HANDS IN PUBLIC RESTROOMS?
