Muslims should acquaint themselves with the Words of the Quran on Fasting before they enter the fast.

Allah did not send down Quran in jest and Muslims should not make the Quran the object of their entertainment.

Fasting is a form of worship of Allah.

Surah Al Baqara from the Quran has the answer to most of these questions, starting from 2.183 to 2.187.
