i am not going to say the answer "he has always been" because that would not be true. before the universe existed there was no sense of time so in all technicality god has not always been. god has only been as long as there was time, which is since the universe began. so in the creation of the universe god created himself or herself (i try not to discriminate) and so the creator has existed as long as the creation. and if gods power really is supreme then s/he could very well have created themselves before or after they had any actual existence, if that makes any sense.
P.S. i am looking at this from a purely philosophical viewpoint being that i have no expressed religion myself

There was always energy. It was governed by the law by which positive energy is stronger than negative energy and negative energy is not allowed to win. This law is at the core of all creation, and it equals the Objective God. From that, and by evolution the Subjective God came about.
You may read the full story on the creation of God, and more, in "Rational Spirituality" on the Dhaxem website.

Your question is asked from a finite human point of view.
The Bible makes it clear in many places that God is outside of time. He is eternal, with no beginning or end — He is infinite! He also knows all things, and is infinitely intelligent.
Even the world-renowned crusader for Darwinism and atheism, Prof. Richard Dawkins, states:
We have seen that living things are too improbable and too beautifully “designed” to have come into existence by chance.
Even the most ardent atheist concedes that design is all around us. To a Christian, the design we see all around us is totally consistent with the Bible’s explanation that God created all.
By definition, an infinite, eternal being has always existed — \ no one created God. He is the self-existing one — \ the great ‘I am’ of the Bible.19 He is outside of time — \ in fact, He created time.
You might say, ‘But that means I have to accept this by faith, as I can’t understand it.’
We read in the book of Hebrews, ‘But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him’ (Hebrews 11:6).
But this is not blind faith, as some think. In fact, the evolutionists who deny God have a blind faith — \ they have to believe something that is against real science — \ namely, that information can arise from disorder by chance.

indeed, this is the age old question.... If we knew the answer we wouldn't need "faith". The question is do you or don't you have faith? Buddhists believe that "God" isn't some hairy old man, but a universal energy within everything- this could translate to the science minded- at an atomic level- as perhaps the electrons in different energy levels around protons..... I guess it depends on your definition of "God"

our mind can't grasp it this is beyond human thinking if u take this understanding had no begining and has no end so before begininng was emptiness voidness darkness in the silence and got suck in into circle and became the source of sources which vibrates in nothingness and created something from the thought it was the word and manifested itself in unconditional love which was cause of the an effect and that's why we are here and god for first time in this moment is expierencing itself in the human flash. all religions exist around the concept of god.god is not something above humanity ,god is something hidden within humanity .man is carring god as himself as a potentiality bless u with love

That is a question that has been discussed for eons. No one on this earth has the answer, and, if they do, I sure would like to know what it is.
Agnostics question whether or not there is a god based on your question. I guess you just have to believe that a god exists and have faith that you'll know the answer when you're in heaven.
I hope that day will be a long time coming....

you cant say where.... before there was anything then there was no where. Where is man made just like time. Where is a place and before the universe there were no places. time is how long it takes the earth to spin so before the earth there was no time. Therefore, before the universe and the earth there was no time or places so it was just God

From God's creator. We don't know about him or her though, no one ever speaks of it.
Note to asker: you will probably get the "He created himself" from the theists. Don't believe that for one second!
What I don't understand is why would "God" create humans here on planet earth, if he wanted humans in heaven?? Seems like a pretty ill-effective way to work.
I'll find better "Faith" in believing there is a Kling-On in my closet than believing in "God." No one has ever proved a Kling-On just as no one has ever proved "God."

How clever, you little sperm-drop?
Planet Earth is nothing more than a speck of dust in the Universe.
In fact, our Sun is nothing more than a speck of dust, but this little bacteria questions the Lord of the Universe when NASA trembles at the thought of what is out there.
Get thee behind me Satan!

Rule of Physics states that matter and energy cannot be created nor destroyed - only changed..... Therefore, God doesnt exist.
