Can anyone help me? How do you fry chicken and not smell like it or have your house smell like it?

Well what I do sometimes is take the deep fryer outside, and I do the same if I'm frying fish.

After you're finished with the dishes (that would be IMMEDIATELY after eating), spray unscented Lysol NeutraAir or Oust throughout the kitchen. Within a few minutes the worst of the smell will be gone. It works when we fry fish, so I'm sure it would take care of the fried chicken odor.

Use a pressure cooker - my mom used to do that. You don;t get that burnt oil and flour smell.

What I do (since I don;t have a pressure cooker) is oven-fry. The house still smells like chicken, but not liek you've been frying!

My cooking bench is right outside... I do not allow any deep frying in the house... it just simply gets everywhere and I am sick of degreasing the walls.

Even in the winter I fry out side with minimul clean up and no smell in the house !

: )

Doesn't work, it will smell. The only thing you can do, open a window and if you don't have one in the kitchen like me, well I put a pot with water on the stove, put in cinnamon sticks, some orange and lemon peel and a few cloves, plus if you have grapefruit peel add that too bring to a boil and then let it simmer slowly, it will take the smell out.

i love the smell of fried chicken! but unfortunately, if you are opting to do it in the house, in a skillet, you are just going to have to open all the windows and turn on all the fans as you cook. to keep your body from smelling like chicken...unfortunately :)...you are going to have to put on bummy clothes and put your hair in a protective cap of some sort (shower cap?) otherwise, using a deep fryer helps a lot. or you are going to have to do what i did in college...run an extension cord out to my patio, and fry it in a deep fryer outside. good luck!

If you are using a fry daddy, sit it on the back porch. This is how I cook egg rolls and I don't have to get rid of the smell.

I burn candles and also boil/steam fresh lavender in the room after cooking fish. It is a fast way to get rid of the fish odor, so I'm sure it would work with chicken, too.

I am not exactly sure of this but I think that it has something to do with the temp of the oil. I think that it is not hot enough. I believe that if the oil is hot enough it will reduce the smell.
