it depends what kind of hair you have..there is a great line by Matrix called Sleek Look and is wonderful to tame the hair..but a really good ceramin flat iron wout help straighten it...you have to section it off into small sections and take it thru the hair slowly and a couple times...your probably gonna need a smoothing serum as well..the Sleek Look line has it all!! trust me!! you'll love it!!

Blow dry it with a round thick bristle brush. You have to pull the hair taught when it is wet sna daim the hot air at a downward angle. Make sure you do it right fromthe root. Then run a really high end straightening iron over it. Anything that costs less tha $180 doesn`t work well. All of this will damage your hair though and you will have to get it trimmed religiosly every 4 months.
You can never say that your hair can`t be straightened. When I was 13 I would spend 2 hours a night straightening my crazy ringlet kinky curls. Now, 10 years later, with MUCH practise it only take 1/2 an hour. The key is bloqdrying it at high temperatures with a Round thick bristle brush. The strightening iron gives it the sheen and gloss when your done.
ps. don`t EVER use a regular iron. It`s strips your hair of all moisture and doesn horrendous damage! And try to keep product use to a minimum. They only make your hair stringy, heavy and greasy when you straighten it.

Treatments in salon works best if you want super duper straight hair. The treatments are called hair rebonding or a version that is cheaper but doesn't straighten as much is hair relaxing. The culprit with these kinds of treatments since they put on loads of chemical in your hair is that it damages it so you should get a hot oil at least once a month. This tends to get too expensive and may damage your hair in the long term especially if you go to a salon that doesn't know what to do. So just remember, the more you do stuff with your hair especially if it involves heat may damage it more and so just be careful on what products to use.

I don't know if this will work for you, but I find that just repetition when blow drying really does the trick. If you have a really good paddle brush, a drier with a directional nozzle, and you hold it above the section of hair you're drying, moving the dryer and the brush together down the section - and do that about 8 times for each section - then your hair will stay straight all day.
Well, mine does! No burning straighteners, no chemicals, and it makes your hair REALLY glossy.

I have to use a Paul Mitchell straightener, I use a matrix sleek and smooth shampoo and conditioner, and thermasilk creme for straighteners.... Oh and when you straighten your hair make sure you do it in layers or it won't stay straight I put the thermasilk on each layer before I run the straightener over it....

Sorry to say this, but my hairspray works -- it's sexy straight hair, smooth & seal (anti-frizz) one. I was born to have curly hair -- I used a straightener, but the one I have is Conair (sp?) and it's not as strong (to get really straight, I have to use it for like an hour or two, and that's annoying). I'm expecting Hot Tools Professional on the way.
And I always thought hairsprays sucked, but this one doesn't.

I got mine chemically straightened (rebonding). Saved me a lot on hair products, accessories and time styling it. My hair is softer, more obedient and never in a mess now. Might cost more than a hundred bucks to straighten it, but it's sure worth it.

i have really wavy/spiral curls. i use a hair straightener (conair ceramic straightener). i put all of my hair in a ponytail (leave some hair down) and the hair you left down straighten it go over it a lot. then when you straighten it put it up in a seperate ponytail. then let some more hair down, then straighten it and put that hair up with the hair you already straightened keep doing this untill you are done. and when you are done let all of your hair down and go over it with the straightener 1 more time (it wont take as long). then use some hair serum (i use ZERO FRIZZ) from wal mart. and put alittle of that in my hair then use 1 layer of hair spray dont use a lot of hairspray tho. b4 i straighten my hair i take ashower and use a deep conditioner (garnier frutics). Good luck!

Some people's hair is naturally straight... Straighteners help, but for my hair it doesn't make that much difference.
