First, we are fallen creatures. God made everything "good" in the beginning. Because of sin, we have become defective.

Having gay impulses is not sinful. Acting upon those impulses is. We are not animals who can't control our heat. We have the capacity to choose. We often choose the path of least resistance and act upon our impulses.

Paul calls this for what it is: "For when you were slaves of sin, you were free as far as righteousness was concerned. What benefit did you get from doing those things you are now ashamed of? For those things resulted in death." (Romans 6:20-21)

Using the logic that your question uses, let's look at other behavior. If a person is born a kleptomaniac, should he be free from punishment if he steals? Of course not. You can also use any other behavior and ask the question. Should an alcoholic be excused? Or a pedophile?

See, when we change the issue, it becomes more apparent. We are told "...all have sinned and continue to fall short of God's glory." (Romans 3:23) And the solution is the same for all. Repent and receive Jesus as Lord, and you will be saved from the penalty of sin and death. It is not just a homosexual issue. It is a sin issue.

He didn't say. Hm, okay let's see... I'm going to make you gay, and you gay, and you gay. You have a choice in life. It's not like GOD actually controls each and every decision in life. Gays won't go to hell. God forgives. You can be a gay Christian to you know. Just because your gay doesn't mean a thing. There is not a verse that says, if you are gay, you are damned to hell. Nope. Homosexuality is a sin sure. But GOD forgives all sinners so you won't go to hell.

Many homosexuals hold to the belief that they were born that way, and there are some researchers who suggest, on the basis of several recent studies, that there may be a genetic predisposition toward homosexuality in some people. However, even those who argue this believe that certain environmental factors would also have to be present for the condition to develop. In any case, other scientists have challenged these studies, and there is presently no generally accepted scientific evidence that the homosexual inclination is inborn. Also, in a broken world, the discovery of a genetic link would not prove that such a condition was God's intent.

It must be emphasized that even if a biological predisposition to homosexuality in some people exists, it would not change God's opposition to the behavior. Neither would it change the fact that through the transforming power of Jesus Christ freedom from sinful behavior is always available. In addition, many strugglers discover growing heterosexual attractions as they address underlying problems with the help of competent Christian support and counseling.

A recent book which discusses genetics and homosexuality is "Homosexuality and the Politics of Truth" by Dr. Jeffrey Satinover. For a practical guide to overcoming homosexuality, the book "Coming out of Homosexuality" by Bob Davies and Lori Rentzel would be helpful. These books would be available through most Christian bookstores or by contacting Regeneration Books, P. O. Box 9830, Baltimore, Maryland 21284-9830, telephone: (410) 661-4337. Exodus International North America—P. O. Box 540119, Orlando, Florida, 32854, telephone: (888) 264-0877—provides information about homosexuality and Christian ministries which help those impacted by homosexuality.

helastar,
Hi! I go to the LGBT area about once a night to make sure that questions like yours aren't left unanswered. I can prove to you that the Bible says no such thing. There has never been a person that went to Hell for being Gay. Not one.

A Christian is a Christian because he or she chooses to trust God through His promises, especially in the Bible. Not by being perfect. Gay is NOT an unpardonable sin.

If you have more to ask, please e-mail me. I think I have it working now. . . I think. I'm glad I don't have to be perfect! lol

When asking religious questions, be careful when you use god and God. There is a huge difference between the two. god = Satan because he is a god, but not more powerful than Almighty God.

Almighty God did not make some people gay, they chose this action. Out of all of the species on earth, humans are the only species that were given the gift of free will. Animals act solely on instinct. God could have made us robots where we are programmed what to think, feel, act. However, this is what makes God so loving. Imagine instead of free will, we were programmed robots. We would not control anything that happens because we would be told what to do and when to do it.

God could have made Adam and Eve robots and make it where they obey Him at all times. But, he did not. He gave humans free will and thinking ability. Adam and Eve chose a course contrary to God and paid for their consequences.

Satan and his demons were cast down from Heaven because they chose to act independently of God and suffered the consequences and no longer dwell in heaven, but on earth.

In Sodom and Gomorrah, there were men using men for unnatural purposes; angles coming down from Heaven and having sex with the earthly women and gave birth to these hybrid offspring (Nephilims). God saw the homosexuality and the other disgusting acts in Sodom and Gomorrah and destroyed that city with fire and sulphur, indicating his disgust for those acts. This was when homosexuality began. That is where the term Sodomy comes from.

Those who chose to be gay in Sodom and Gomorrah decided this course of life and paid the price (death). In 1Corinthians 6:6-9, it mentions how men who lie with men will not inherit God's Kingdom. That is the price homosexuals pay for continuing in this course of life. Despite this principle in the Bible, religious leaders and politicians want to legalize gay marriage. God and his Word the Bible clearly condems it. Period. End of Story.

In terms of hell, we are all going there when we die. This notion of hell has a bad connotation to many because they were falsely taught that it is a place of eternal torment. How is that logical? Is that what the Bible Really Teaches. The problem in society today is that people will believe anything they hear. If I said I was the Christ, I guarantee you that at least 5 people would believe me. That is how sad this world is. The Bible condems homosexuality, yet humans accept it. It's God's Word against Man's. Man wrote the Bible, inspired of God (2Timothy 3:15, 16)

Hell is not even in the Bible. The terms that are used are Sheol and Hades. Both meaning the common grave of mankind, awaiting a resurrection. Do some research because I want you to make sure that you understand this point and not just abide by what I say. When we die, we go to "Sheol, Hades, or Hell," but not to be burned forever. Of course, Sheol, Hades and/or Hell are all figurative terms describing the commong grave of mankind.

I hope this answer shed some light on your question.

You could just as well ask why God made some people fornicators and adulterers and gossips and slanderers and liars and thieves and people with anger and bitterness issues. He didn't make people that way, people just have different areas of temptation that they are prone to in their lives because of SIN that came into this world after He created it.

The bad news is that people who continue in a lifestyle characterized by the types of behavior that I have just listed are on their way to hell. The good news is that if someone turns to God through Jesus Christ they will receive the Holy Spirit who will begin the process of transforming the individual into the likeness of Jesus over time and sinful behavior will no longer have mastery over them.

I'm not attracted to men sexually but I haven't had sex with a woman since becoming a Christian because I'm not married and I choose to honor God with my body. Just because I see pretty women to whom I am attracted doesn't mean that I have to try and pick up on them and engage in fornication. Not only that but I enjoy my life and I don't sit around whining about why did God make me a heterosexual and not provide me with a wife.

My thoughts lean toward the notion that it doesn't matter what we think, feel, or do whether gay or straight, but rather whether or not our hearts are right. Whether we're stealing, having perverted sex, killing, swearing, worshipping the almighty dollar, etc..I think recognizing it, confessing it, being ashamed and remorseful is the only thing that is going to get ANY of us into Heaven. If we choose to be proud of our transgressions I think we are confirming our reservations in Hell.

God didn't make the person gay. Being gay is a learned action and is not biological in nature. I have not heard of any DNA pattern that only gays have vs. straight people.

kingreef777 - If you can prove that no person has gone to Hell for being gay, please edit your answer and provide those "proofs". You are correct that a christian is not perfect and chooses to trust God. The one item you left off is that Christians must also repent of all of their sins (homosexuality is a sin). If the person continues in their sin, then they are not truly repentant and therefore are not truly saved and have not truly put their full trust in God.
