how can two people who are separated by thousands of miles still be in touch without the aid of technology...

example: emailing or calling same time, knowing the other person is in trouble or thinking loving thoughts...why is that? it happens all the time but how to explain it using logic or spirituality (no dogma or faith please)

I mean many people can look to the moon or sun at same time and be connected to that...how then are we connected from so far apart ( 8000 to 11000 miles) but a simple real time phone call confirms the connection?

There is more to the universe than we can know or think, quantum mechanics may go a long way in describing what can happen between individual minds that are sererated my thousands of miles. There may also be more to our physiology than mere physicality, after all, siblings come from the same mother; so is it so shocking to think that they may only be connected physically to their mother and father? We lose a great deal, I think, when we play reductionist and remove all extra-sensory factors in our rational understanding of the world.

I am not sure I understand you question. I guess you are asking how do people have a sort of intuition about others? Well, we are all connected as people, and when we love someone and spend a lot of time and emotion with them, we feel very connected. We understand the other person. I mean, God could have some aspect in it if you wish for that sort of an explanation, the Holy Spirit that binds us all could tell you that your friend is in trouble. I think it's more of like when women who live together get their periods at the same time - people who spend a lot of time thinking about each other syncronize in thinking about each other. I'm not sure if that makes sense or answers the question.

Easy. You and your friend are thinking of each other. Love connects you through the miles.
sincerely,

The pope gets a little thrill, all the way in Italy, every time I think about his dress.

While I don't have any statistics, I would say it is pure coincidence/chance. Just from my own life, let's say that happens once, maybe twice a year. From a statistical perspective, that is less than random chance.

There is no connection. You are just responding as programmed to the same stimulus. The same way you would respond if I said "gay marriage" -> "eek!".
