Church of England was created by a king (Henry 8th) who decided to move away from Rome as they didn't do what he wanted. So he, to continue with the football metaphore, picked up his ball and went home to play with his own team. i am not totally sure, but beginning a religion based on a fight with the papal centre is a viable way to begining any religion; the goal posts moved and will continue to do so. Gay priests, women priests to name but two! The church doesn't have to be a oney maker it is one of the richest organisations in the world - imagine selling of the real estate that is westminister abbey and the grounds - I am guess a few hundreds of million there alone! If the church really wanted to help the common man they would actually put their money to good use.

We will always have people out there trying to grab for money or who do not have pure motives and its possible they can infiltrate any group or organisation.

I guess thats why the bible teaches to watch out for false teachers etc in the last days and to test the spirits. Jesus used a picture of the tares (weeds) growing with the wheat. Basically they will be there until the final harvest - the wheat (true converts) will be harvested and the tares will be burnt up.

Look to Jesus, our perfect Lord, and you wont be dissapointed. True christianity is a personal faith in Christ and it is unshakeable and life changing. It transcends any religious organisation or man made group.

Yes there are fakes but the real deal is also out there and God has a faithful people worldwide who seek to serve Him despite what is going on in the world around them. We as the Church are called to persevere and not be moved in our faith but go out a show the world what real christians are. Let our light shine.

There are already people doing this but in a quiet humble way so as not to draw attention to themselves. I pray that you will be surrounded by true servants of Christ.

Do you mean the C of E? I've never belonged but I have friends who have, and I am friendly with a woman who is ordained in the church. Check out for yourself the other churches that God is blessing and raising for our times, exciting times, revival is on it's way and we need to be prepared. I belong to a new frontiers church, and it's the most exciting place to be, with healings and people being changed by Jesus every week.....here's the link so you can find a church near you and find out more about it. The teaching is bible based, the people are warm and friendly, I couldn't have gone to a church that was not genuine and did not follow Jesus whole heartedly.

Many who claim to represent God & Christ do not follow what it says in the Bible.
That's why many who are atheist or from eastern religions etc will not even consider looking into it. They judge God's Word (the Bible) by those claiming to follow it. Everything a person believes in should be backed-up by or based on Scriptures.
Many religions don't care & all they are interested in is money & prominence, hence the high-sounding titles that Jesus said we shouldn't have (Father & Eminence & Reverend etc)

They are a poor representation of God's word & will be judged by God for it.

Business is always business.
Politics is always politics.
Popularity is the quest, then you get more money in the plate.

They will tell you that they are constantly evolving to meet current spiritual needs of course.

some people exploit and abuse their power, sadly it even happens in some religious communities. but by and large Christianity is still religion and not money making market.
