Violent people created a violent god. And we are gonna be thumbs downed into oblivion for saying this.

God is not violent. God is just. God gave Man dominion over the earth, and with that came choice. You have a choice of what kind of person you will be - are you violent or peace loving, caring or hate filled - or perhaps a little of both. It is your choice always.

Neither. God is not viloent on a whim. He is only seen as violent when he has been angered and his wrath is justified. People on the other hand, are violent because they think might makes right. If you can master someone by physical means then you can rule them with fear.

i think that people created a violent God
i dont feel that a creator would do anything but love his creation and strive to keep it beautiful
man needed something to fear and keep people in line .... what better way that with God
