I currently have dual 12'' 1100 Watt Subs. The onld ones. In a box just sitting there in my trunk. I need an amp. My friend just told me to go to Walmart and buy the 1000 Watt amp.. What do you think about the set up? I kinda know how to install all of it. But i just need to know if its good set up or am i just waisting money. Also i HAVE TO get a fuzz buster. I NEED ONE! haha

sony is crap, look at anything at wal mart and see how often you see that stuff at car shows, not the brand names but the actual pproducts cause they sell pioneer too but its the low end pioneer stuff

I have the Sony XM-2200GTX 1200 watt amp (200 watts X 2 @ 4 ohms) and I took it apart just to see what all the fuss was about (I've repaired many amps in the past).
As far as quality, construction and choice of parts (ie. manufacturer of parts) I not only found it to be good, but actually using the same parts as most high end amplifiers.
The power transistors is what really cuaght my eye though as these were actually superior to most high end brands.
So these people saying that Sony is crap must really be following what they heard and have not actually inspected/tested for themselves.
There are no false promises here. I have to say even I was impressed for "name brand".
As far as price, Sony falls right in with other manufactures for the same class of amp.
The performance of this amp was a little more than what I was expecting. It suited my need VERY well.

To be honest i think with that stuff your just buying the Sony name there is better stuff out there for the same price just shop around!

that Sony 1000Watt amp is ok not the best but it has good bass for the price.
