About half of the Christians I know openly acknowledge that there is truth and beauty in all of the world's great religions. They find inspiration in the Gita and Upanishads and speak admiringly of the practices of Buddhism and Taoism. The other half are afraid to acknowledge that any other religions exist. Every doctrine not taught by their own little church is "of the Devil." They see demons behind every bush.

I would say, yes, sometimes...but lowercase-t truth, not capital-T Truth.
Buddha, for example, said some things that appear to be true. He lived his life in pursuit of capital-T Truth and discovered many lowercase-t truths.
Taoism, while lovely to behold, isn't capital-T True. While the Tao-te-Ching holds many lowercase-t truths, its foundation--that there is evil in good, which by extension has to mean, if you are a theist, that there is evil in God--is false. And with a falsity in the foundation, the lowercase-t truths are just sort of helpful little truisms, or insights.
I am not very well versed in Hinduism. So I am not qualified to comment on this one.
Judaism has but part of the story. Same with Islam. They understand and believe part of God's story, but neither comprehend nor acknowlege the gift of salvation through his Son. So while true, sort of, they don't take into account the greatest thing that God did for humankind since he created us.
There are so many other religions, as I'm sure you know, that I could comment on in this very-general-outline sort of way...but I don't feel like it.
I think I made my point, though.

Here ya go, find some truth and beauty in this:
Qur’an 9:5 “When the sacred forbidden months for fighting are past, fight and kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, take them captive, torture them, and lie in wait and ambush them using every stratagem of war.”
Ishaq:550 “The Muslims met them with their swords. They cut through many arms and skulls. Only confused cries and groans could be heard over our battle roars and snarling.”
Qur’an 8:12 “Your Lord inspired the angels with the message: ‘I will terrorize the unbelievers. Therefore smite them on their necks and every joint and incapacitate them. Strike off their heads and cut off each of their fingers and toes.”

my apologies for answering this question which is not directed to me or my beliefs, however i find it to be an intriguing question. as an atheist, i find both beauty and truth behind the ideals of these traditions. i find it sad that so many do not apply these ideals to their everyday lives.

i believe there is 'truth' in a lot of things that are not true themselves. muslims believe in one god - and this is true. you can see where im going with this.
beauty; again, there is beauty in many ugly things as well. britney spears is beautiful; its her mind, personality, character and morals that are ugly.
