Many of them take advantage of a situation. Some are worse than the criminals they arrest. Others are good guys who risk their lives for our safety.

Cops should be required to pass an exam on the Constitution and Bill of Rights with 90% or better before ever being given police powers. Further, cops should have NO freedoms ordinary citizens do not. Finally, cops that use their powers for illicit purposes should be sentenced to death. I'm dead serious.

No cops do not have too much freedom. They have less freedom then the moron citizens that they are trying to serve and protect.

Every move they make is scrutinized, every discussion discussed and ever arrest they make is picked apart to make sure everything is done right. Sounds like a he77 of a lot less freedom then others.

Freedom to do what? My every move is scrutinized by the suspect, witnesses, media, people with camera phones, video recorders, helicopters, etc...... Where's the freedom? I'm held criminally liable against violating civil rights, unlawfully taking someone's constitutional rights, and a citizen making a complaint against me. Is there any other job that you can think of that has that much attention to their every move? What freedom?

Yes, someone asked why we are here on a Saturday night.
The reason is because at the stroke of 2am, every cop in
this area is sitting in their car out side the bars just waiting
to pull over an "aggressive driver" or to do a "routine check".

Let me be more clear, they're sitting at bars, while 2 miles
away, in the really rough section of town, people are being
mugged, raped & shot. There, there's not a cop to be found.
Draw your own conclusions.

I realize they have a tough job to do. I feel that they should do there jobs in a proper manner. Like when they question someone they can lie or do what ever to get the person to say what they want to hear.

What do you mean too much freedom????
Police officers have law's that they have to go by also. Police don't have as much freedom as movies and people make them out to have.

Freedom to do what? To be shot at, physically assaulted, verbally abused, underpaid? Are these the "freedoms" you asked about?

I think criminals have too much freedom. And anyone with such an attitude as yours must have gotten into trouble.
