make sure you have a cool down from your workout (ie take it easier towards end and do some stretches just as you should when doing warm up) the pain in the muscles is froma build up of lactic acid (by product of muscle formation and burning of energy in muscles) a warm down will help ease this

Hot treatment is also very effective as a follow up to cold treatment, which is frequently recommended for sports and other activity injuries. Apply the cold treatment (for example, running the area under cold water or ice) then, when any swelling and inflammation has subsided, apply the hot treatment.

Hot treatments contain a special blend of ingredients that, together with a massage, provide a penetrating warmth to relieve pain and relax stiff muscles. Typical ingredients are a counter irritant to provide a tingling, pain relieving sensation; a warming rubefacient to dilate the blood vessels, re-oxygenate the tissues and relax the muscles; and a natural analgesic, which is absorbed through the skin.

For general pains in the muscles and joints, massage in Deep Heat Rub. Rub is ideal for a massage, which helps to relax the muscles.

Deep Heat provides all three beneficial effects - a counter irritant and rubefacient plus a naturally occurring analgesic which, when absorbed through the skin, may be converted into pain relieving aspirin-like substance. Together these ingredients provide a penetrating, comforting warmth and fast effective pain relief.

Deep Heat is available from all leading pharmacies and supermarkets.

a hot bath straight after exercising and then apply to the effected area : - Ibugel, Volterol cream, Feldene creme, in fact any anti -inflammatory cream/gel or ralgex spray, will have an almost instant relief effect. Next time do your exercises more gently and most of all warm up before exercising.
