Have you had any experiences with pitt bulls that where not good?

Pit Bulls are great dogs and like with any dog they are a product of their owners. I currently have my brother's Pit Bull, I adopted him when my brother passed away. When my brother was diagnosed with a rare incurable cancer at 20, his last request was to have a Pit Bull. So I went into the city a found him a Pit Bull puppy. From day one that dog never left his side not even thru the bad times. Right up to the end the dog stayed by his side. During the middle of everything I got a Labrador puppy that terrorized the Pit from day one. Never once in the four years that we have had our Pit has he ever shown one ounce of aggression. Pits love their owners and will do anything for them, including fighting. They do not know its wrong they do it because they are told to. There are a lot of other breeds that are naturally aggressive, but are not exploited like the PIts. I have been around a lot of Pits and have never had one bad experience. And I have been around several other breeds and have had night mare experiences.

I've owned them for about twenty years! They are awesome companions when raised properly. Mine were raised with kids and cats. It's people like "Fefe" (left you a STUPID answer) that cause problems. People should understand that the news ONLY reports dog bites from pitbulls and rotties, etc. They could care less if a poodle attacks someone, which they do! It's also a fact that seventy five percent of dog bites and attacks are not reported correctly. Many people that say a pitbull attacked them are mistaken. They don't get a really good look at the dog and assume what breed it is! My daughter has been bitten by three dogs in her life, a husky, a rottie, and a small mutt that left a hole in her ear. Guess what? Our pitbulls have never bitten and are LOVED by our entire neighborhood. It's unfortunate that some people do train their pits to be mean. They think it makes them cool when in reality, they're weak people hiding behind a loyal dog that is only doing what it thinks is right, because that's how they were trained. Pitbulls are AMAZING and can be the best dogs ever! No one in this world could convince me that I'm wrong. People who believe in BSL are supporting racism and need to open their minds and meet some pitbulls instead of sitting in front of the news, like "Fefe" up there!

The American Staffordshire Terrier and the English Staffordshire Terrier are good breeds of Dog that because of Society have become the "scapegoat" of Canine Profiling....I can't stand the term "PITBULL"....They are NOT a breed for the meek as they are quite dominate and can be stubborn.....They were bred for "Bull baiting" in earlier times which gave way to the nature to be aggressive and later years have been bred to fight...which let's face it didn't help the breeds already tarnished outlook....People buy them to be trendy or for whatever sick reason and do not insure proper training and care which can cause ANY aggressive dog regardless of breed to be a virtual ticking time-bomb.....ANY breed that has specifically breed for Guarding, Protection, or Police work has a possibility to be an endangerment to children....UNLESS properly trained....For every horror story you hear about this breed just remember there are hundreds of stories of a great companion....I have never myself ran into a dangerous AST or EST unless it has been maltreated....If anyone is to buy or adopt this breed or any breed like it they should realize that if they can not provide sufficient training themselves they should be responsible owners and pay for professional training.......that and study up thoroughly on the breed, I have seen too many good dogs put down because of carelessness on the part of the owner ......

To the lady that said that Pitbulls are breed to kill. I am sorry hun but you need to do your research. Out of 100 breeds that they had tested for agression the Pitbull was 4th FROM THE BOTTOM. So that means it was 96 OUT OF 100. All of the cute dogs that everybody LOVES are higher than the pitbull. I hate it when people spat off about something that they do not know anything about. PEOPLE NEED TO DO THEIR RESEARCH BEFORE THEY START TALKING!!!!! I do own a pitbull and she is one of the best things that happened to me. I don't know what I would do with out her.

I have not had any bad experiences with pits.
These dogs are great family pets if they are raised to respect and obey...just like any other dog!! Kindness, gentleness and discipline are important parts in training any animal. People raise them to fight, be mean and territoriral.....it's horrible.
Any dog can be mean...I got bit by a dockson one time!!

As long as they're not bred for a bad attitude or trained to fight (abuse), they make a fantastic companion. Intelligent, loyal, great with kids and generally just big happy puppies.
Ther are no bad Pit Bulls, just bad Pit Bull owners.

Pitbulls in my opinion have been the best dogs ive ever owned. I have never had any bad experiences with them, they are loving beautiful awesome dogs. Treat them (just like any other breed of dog) right, & they will be good to you. I PROMISE THAT!

ithink there great dogs if there left alone to be what they are and not taught to be mean .A PERSON who teaches his pit to be meen has just killedhis dog?there not gonna let the dog you taught to bite to walk on the earthbiting and killing when he feels like it .you did that to your dog you didnt ask him if he likes life you said be my dog and we"ll show people how stupid we are by biting and killing everything we see . the problem is theyllkill the dog and youmy friend will probly walkaway . pits are excellent dogs unless they have GARBABE AS MASTER. tough guys killinginacent animals who only want to honor theremaster.

pitbulls are wonderful dogs when properly trained and socialized...they get a bad rep because of bad ,irresponsible owners....any dog has the potential to be dangerous..after all they are animals with teeth..lets stop judging all dogs by a few that without proper care or training do something wrong...
