Marijuana is truly harmless as long as it does not mix with operating automobiles or dangerous machinery. It has been proven not to damage nerve cells (the chemicals do not even enter the cells themselves), though they can be made temporarily less efficient with constant marijuana use. Though it contains carcinogens found in tobacco, marijuana has NEVER been cited as a primary cause for anyone's cancer; in fact, a recent study concluded that marijuana smoke did not cause cancer of the lungs.
Most of that bad things you've heard about marijuana are hoaxes. Remember, marijuana was outlawed with the push of the alcohol and cotton lobbies. The alcohol lobby knew that they had an intoxicant they knew was better and less harmful as competition, and the cotton lobby competed against hemp. Together, they helped fun the creation of the movie "Reefer Madness," which attributed to the creation of the Marijuana Tax Act--which formally outlawed marijuana.

There are no known cases of cancer directly attributable to Jah Herb, But logic would say that smoke in your lungs is not a healthy thing. That's why you cough, But who cares right just breathing the air here in Phoenix can cause diseases like valley fever, so what do you do. I say relax and burn one. Don't ever go to Jamaica because you'll get too buzzed to come home,

NO, its has never been found to cause any diseases or cancers. I know many people who have smoked from the age of 17 to the age of 55 and had no ill effects, it is actually thought to strengthen your lungs.

Health issues and the effects of cannabis
Main article: Health issues and the effects of cannabis
There is some conclusive scientific evidence about the long-term effects of human cannabis consumption.[43]
The findings of many earlier studies purporting to demonstrate the effects of the drug are unreliable and generally regarded as junk science, as the studies were flawed, with strong bias and poor methodology. The most significant confounding factor is the use of other drugs, including alcohol and tobacco, by test subjects in conjunction with cannabis. When subjects using only cannabis were combined in the same sample with subjects using other drugs as well, researchers could not reach a conclusion as to whether their findings were caused by cannabis, other drugs, or the interaction between them. In addition, research using cannabis is heavily restricted in many countries, making it difficult to get new studies funded or approved. Since there are so many different compounds in cannabis, it is difficult to predict or accurately measure its effects. Some conclusions established with some degree of certainty that cannabis is less likely to cause emphysema or cancer than tobacco[44]; that it is unlikely to cause birth defects or developmental delays in the children of users,[45][46] and in a study done by the University of California Los Angeles in 2006, that even heavy marijuana smokers do not increase their risk for lung cancer.[47] According to a United Kingdom government report, using cannabis is less dangerous than both tobacco and alcohol in social harms, physical harm and addiction.[48]
Newer research has also shown that cannabis use is generally higher among sufferers of schizophrenia, but causality has not been established[49][50] and confirmed that sustained early-adolescent cannabis use among certain genetically predisposed individuals has an elevated correlation with certain mental illness outcomes, ranging from psychotic episodes to clinical schizophrenia.[51][52]

Its a toxin, its possible things can come from smoking it. And yes...it can cause lung cancer. Youre inhaling smoke just like a cigarette smoker, and they say its much worse than cigs.
