If you don't experience it first hand and listen to someone talking about it you will not know how it really is first hand.
I say it's similar to being inside a cage with everyone outside having fun and you don't know how to get out. Hopelessness.

deep ? hows this. it is steming from the break down of todays society. And the loss of what we once knew as family values.these are the main reasons .The gulf war,The government,The media that makes its living off bad news.Poverty, drug adiction, homeless, the wealthy, global warming>{bs} but there are those that worry about it. are just a few of the causes for the depressed state of society today.I feel the break down of the family unit and the loving values. That are lost to people that are part of the break down. On our streets and neighborhoods today. these people have know value of life. this is why it is so easy for them to take it away.
there are the others that simply cant or wont { GET OVER IT } wishing to go through life with the ,this happened to me so thats why i am the way i am. Or my ancestores were slaves. so that is why i do what i do or feel what i feel.or my ancestors were burned in ovens.so we will never let this be forgotten. and the hate and prejudice simply continues. my ancestors were removed from there homes and lands to bearen waste land where many of them died from nothing more than broken hearts.Read the trail of tears. It is our american history. but all of it happened long before I was even born.theres nothing i can do about now.
but i do my best to have a positive attitude as best i can. I dont need someone to make me happy. its not someone elses job. others think a pill is the answer.it isnt. the answer must come from within ones self. thats the only place it can be found.
If i were to give one answer to it.
the break down of the family unit and family values .that are nolonger a part of our society today. but when it comes to depression. there will allways be far more questions than there will be answers

re-enforcement system was based on enjoyment Ted Turner took that away from us.
he owns all the movies you don't
there are no big answers just alot of exspections that can no longer be met in fantisies or in realities or in encouragement
I've waited like alot of other americans to see the dream come true and it's just going to be alot of snickering for the rich and screw u
the imported civilization coming across the border for the better life is being gobbled up by the lobbiest who will sell you the idea that the bad job you've always hated is the job of choice for the lil people who can't speeck the language but has been assured that you are doing them a favor and get out of the way as you are doing a job that other american don't want and they save money by importing labor so they don't have to pay benifits to them they are going to get any retirement schedule and they aren't making it a blue cross blue shield benifits for them either. your politician are sitting there wth their mouths open catching flys, and all the employers are good to go. all you have to do is give up and they want got american dream, remember that when the promises were never kept, and the wars were long and costly, and lllinois was the most corrupt state and unbenificial to all americans equally they didn't discriminate against anyone they just kept our money and put it back in the general fund that made them look good and you re-elcted them for save you from your own benifits, war mongers that were killing off the whole white race,(i get depressed that the bombs are so small that we are wonering why do we have the bomb and still kill ourselves just like the countries who don't have the bomb, (I'm not a nice guy) something wrong when what i want isn't what you want and we can't get together and force the issue) as I watched my vet father and vet step father die, they layed on the battlefields for years waiting froozen to the ground for a sot that might end the war, what was depressing here the caterscts and operation that they go through even when they survive, poor and dignified, the chicago papers were burying them all over the country by the thousands a day, just a few years ago, and it's over the great white thinkers and responsible, and couragous, the replacements are here! y chomazone won't be here, these are puppets bought by our tax dollars, and everything we stand for is gone just the little money grubber are here in the home front while the america dream and the twinkle in your parents that brought you into this world is now gone and like all things that were good (there still here) lie to your self somemore so you don't get pessimistic and your friends think your bonkers but your not the focus of it and the new people who will fight for your freedom are, where you once were, and government don't do anything small they can only thrive on this machine they built if they stop it they fear the dark ages will come and they don't want to be poor like we are.there's never been a plan for anybody but themselves.it's your dream that keeps them the gate keeper and the gate just went south,it's just like when the door was thrown open and the first woman beat her ol' man in court now they all did it and now half the married people aren't married and they can pick up a lil' som'something at the bar but it's not what we were all about. when you look at the world and you see (you still like it)= your head and shoulders ahead of me, I wish you well and take a lot of time and do everything in moderation other wise you go off the deep end and it takes long time to float back up this is only (one) way of the trillion ways that the creeps who are in this world are closer than you think that makes depressing oportunities fun for them they got your tax dollars to wait you out and turn your property in to a wet land and be payed to do it

Life is stressful.
Society puts to many regulations and restrictions on what you can or can't do. If you deviate from what society wants then you are outcast. After pushed out of the standard good girl/ boy persona you end up hiding behind food, alcohol, drugs or other destructive behavior.
We as individuals need to look out for ourselves first and then others second. Think about what we want and how we want to be. Then figure out we need to do to build up to that and go for it. Also, remember things like what chemicals are put into food and try and eat healthier. We could also exercise so that we balance out emotions and other feelings -- exercise is a great way to feel better. With proper diet and exercise we can stop hiding behind some of that destructive behavior.
Hopefully we can get past what society expects, and just be oursleves and happy!

I am 64 and wouldn't be younger for anything in the world. We just did not have the stress then that young people have now. (meaning anyone 50 and under) I simply do not know how both parents working with children can be anything but stress...stress...stress. Also, you don't have extended families who helped our generation out so much.....grandparents live far away or are working more years today than ever before just trying to put food on the table.

I think the social revolutions in gender coupled with the material world gaining speed, the last few generations of youth have been trained by society to be very self-centered & materialistic.
Those of us who were just born during the womens liberation movement are guinea pigs of huge social changes. Kids have less respect, mothers are working and have less time with their kids. The men dont know what to do with these new liberated women who are nothing like there mothers. New schools of thought that our grandparents did it wrong...etc. Life is just moving too fast and its hard on everyone. Too much information coming at us...less religion

90% of thoughts are about oneself (think about it). Many of those thoughts are negative or self-critical. Sorrow is an addiction, and to rid oneself of addiction it takes effort.. (Much easier to be sad/angry than happy)
It is a natural process for the human mind to put themselves in a sorrowful state as compared to animals, for example, who get food/water/love and feel balanced and content.
Thanks for the deep question; )
