It depends on which wormer and what worm you are worming for. Roundworms treated with Pyrantel Pamoate need at least 2 doses before it is "wormed". Tapeworms are "cured" in one treatment.

When we adopted my kitten, she had worms. The treatment took about 10 days in all and included three doses of dewormer -- 2 of them in the first few days and then one at the end.

Make sure you use all of the doses -- the last one gets any remaining worms/eggs that may have survived the first two.

Should get rid of worms in a week or so.
