They are practically the same thing, the only difference is that the verb changes.
Where as "I'm in love with you" has love, the noun, is the phase and state the person is in.
And "I love you" is action of enjoying the company of you.
Either way, remember to use protection LOL!

I suppose saying "I am in love with you" is when your explaining something to them like you are the only one who understands me thats how I am in love with you where saying "I love you" is stating it when something has happened and you want to put the point accross. They mean the same thing only used in different context. Your boyfriend seems a little simple minded so you might want to try not making it so complicating for him by telling him you love him in to many ways;)

You love that person for who and what they are as well do for you..You know those kinda things. Nothing sexual between you guys.
You are in love: your the only one i want to be with, i cant stop thinking of you. When you walk in the room, you put a smile on my face! :)
Also your the only man i wanna make love with every nite or the one i want to spend the rest of my life with!!!

I am in love with you has got a stronger meaning to it. I love you is said to your family. Its used a lot by celebs. when they say I love you to It's just an nice thing to say. But I am in love with you is directed to one person that's the difference

hon being in love is for real its not something you say just to make the other happy its the feeling you get when that person is near you.but love does get confuse with i like you a lot.being in love and saying i love you its different.you may love him but that don't mean you're in love with him.being in love has more feeling, more emotional.when you tell someone that you love him its because the feeling gets deeper than just like.

Here's your difference. When I tell my sister, mother, father, nephew, grandson, daughter, son. I love them I'm saying that my care and concern are with them and if they need something to let me know so that I might be able to help. When I tell my wife I'm in love with her I'm telling her that she is the most important person in the world to me.
Peace.

You would tell someone like your family and close friends "I love you." Saying "I am in love with you" is something you should only say to someone you think you want to be with forever (bf/gf, whatever applies). You can also tell your bf/gf "I love you" but it may mean you either aren't in love with him or you're not sure.

I think "I am in love with you" is much more serious than "I love you". I guess it's really hard to explain, but "in love" is directed more towards relationships, while plain "love" can be said to anyone...

Here we go again...... Now listen and listen carefully, when you say I love You it can mean I love you like I love flowers or puppies, but when someone is in love, they wake up with you on their mind, they always wanna be with you, they like everything about you including your flaws, that there is being in love. :P It's a great feeling. Let me call my man and tell him I Love Him!
