Won 1988 Olympic Silver medal at Light Middle wt
Great defensive skills and unparalleled speed hid a weak chin
Held titles at 160, 168, 175 and Hwy wt
Charles - W 89 (KO's 49) TF 115 - W pct 77% - KO pct 43% - wins over Maxim{2}, Moore[2], Walcott and Louis - KO'ed by Walcott, Marciano and 3 other average fighters - #13 ranked fighter
Charles had twice the amount of fights that Roy had. Charles was a better boxer than Roy even though he didn't have the speed that Roy has. Roy is good boxer but by now he knows that he has a weak chin and he stays away from Ezzard. I have Charles winning a 15 rd split decision.

Great question Brent F! Ezzard Charles was a very underrated fighter in my opinion. His first fight with Marciano showed how much heart and desire he had to win! Jones Jr. would have the edge in handspeed but not even close to being the overall ring technician that Charles was. I believe that Charles would dominate this fight by landing harder punches particularly on the inside and would not be intimidated by Jones Jr and his antics during fights. I believe Jones Jr would win some rounds with his speed but Charles would eventually catch him on the ropes and land devastaing punches in the 10th round and win by knockout.

He was a great fighter and fought m any m ore quality fighter than Jones ever saw
