I like a guy at school but im too shy!?

I am 17 andwhen it comes to guys I really like i can be pretty shy will there is a new forigien exchange student who is going to my school I noticed that he doesnt really talk to alot of people and today at lunch he was sitting by himself i wanted to sit with him but thought no someone eles is going to sit with him. I was right but they only sat near him not with him from what I saw they didnt talk to him and i felt bad plus he is really hott and I want to talk to him but what if he doesnt like me or thinks im like ugly i dunno i always tell my friends to go for it but this is the 1st guy who makes me so nervous can someone give me advice o and homecoming is friday and i wanted to ask him but would that be too fast? or would it be like im nosy or something? please help

when ur at luch just ask is this seat taken if he say yes than say sry if no sit down and just start talking abut random things good luck
