My dog has just recently mated with a male, Not sure how many times he got her but Caught them once on the 4th of sept. It was a slipped mating, they never got stuck. It has been 3 wks and she is supper loving always right there by my side and always on my laps, Always seems to be sleeping, Threw up 2wks ago once, Her vulva and nipples are still enlarged and her nipples have turned to a lighter color pinkish. She hasn't seemed to gained weight yet, but it might still be to soon for that right? I did take her to the vets, vet tried to palpate but didn't fell anything, he said it might have been a few days to soon to palpate but just to bring her back in 45days for xray, What do you all think? What other early signs are there besides gaining weight?

Hi by the sound of it you might need to do some research on breeding to know what to look for.
You wont really notice anything until the last month she will get larger around the rear My girl whom i Breed 6 months ago showed no signs until we ultra sounded her at 30 days and the vet then told me that she might have 2 to 3 puppies when she whelped we had a litter of 10 at whelping you will be looking for a Tempter drop in the dog around 35/36 since by the sounds of it you have never done this before i would be very close to your vet as this situation can go very wrong

I don't know what the sign's are but she could still be pregnant just take her to the vet when the 45 day's are up and see for sure.
I wonder if a human pregnancy test would work on a dog probably not that was really stupid yea, just take her to the vet. : )

Have fun, ive had 2 litters this year. Once she get about 30 to 35 days you will see that she will start gaining weight. Also feel on her belly to see if you feel it getting tight. She will eat and sleep more. what kind of dog is it and how old. Go ahead now and put her on puppy food. it has extra vitamins in it to help her nourish her pups. keep her on that until she finished nursing the puppies. from what you said, i think she's prego. Go ahead now and start researching what you will need to do for delivery and whelping. Its a big job.

Why do you not spay the dog??? Clearly you are clueless about breeding, and therefore should not be adding poorly bred pet puppies to the world.
OF COURSE SHE CAN BE PREGNANT!!!!!!!
