My friend and I are trying to figure out what authentic tomato pie really is. We've seen various recipies used, but they are all different. If anyone knows the history or how it is prepared, the help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

There are many variations of this, but basically, you can buy the crust in the freezer section, grab a bunch of tomatoes(salted and drained), some cheeses, couple of eggs, some basil, olive oil and crumbs to drizzle over top; bake in a 350 degree oven for about 30-35 minutes; also check foodnetwork.com; they have some great recipes!
