He was bottle fed from the time he was born and now eats dry and wet food. He is about 4 months old now. Will he grow out of it? He leaves the blanket soaking wet with his drool after he is done sucking on the blanket! Help!!!

Cats who are weaned too early from their mothers will usually exhibit this behavior. They will usually grow out of it. Just keep anything that he can suck out behind closed doors. Or find something you don't mind him sucking on and make available to him. If he keeps it up, take him to your vet and he might be able to help.

It really depends on the cat.. That is a comforting thing for the cat.. They tend to do that more when they arent breast fed ... feel good.. the cat is enjoying hisself.. and completely comfortable in his surroundings.. Get him his own special blanket.. and let him enjoy.. if they have their own.. they will usually leave the rest alone.. dont wash it too much tho..

This is called "Woolsucking' and it is most common in Siamese cats. It will probably be a habit for life - just keep bedroom doors closed & blankets & clothes that he likes picked up & put away. If it gets severe, you can ask your vet about drug treatment.

My cat does this too. When people come over I put her one her blanket and let her go to town. We think it's funny. I heard it's from taking them away from their mothers to soon.

Don't worry both of my cats still do that, It's something called Kneeding. It is harmless and just give them a blanket for them to do their thing.

Yet another fine example of how a Spray bottle can solve the world's problems. =o) Kitty cats hate water.

My kitten does that, too. Personally, I don't think it's a big deal. She has one blanket that she likes and she does it when she's tired. It seems to be a calming time for her.
