Thick iceing or thin? Also...do you eat the decoration roses?

I prefer thin icing because I really could do without it, but a little bit is nice. I don't eat the decor roses on a cake because that's a little too much sweet for my taste.

I am taking a cake decorating class right now and the decorative icing they have us use to make those pretty roses is made of nothing but CRISCO and confectioner's sugar! One tablespoon has like 400 calories...after finding this out, I will never eat icing again! It sure is purty though!

I prefer thin icing--I never eat the decoration roses but i know all the little kids always fight to get that piece of cake.

thick icing is the best, and the roses are the first thing i pick off and eat. I always try to get a piece of cake that has the most roses.

Well, since cake is just an excuse to eat icing (IMHO, anyway), the thicker the better!

And if somebody reaches for that decoration rose on my slice of cake, they're apt to pull back a stump. ;-)

I like thick. You can use less sugar. And yes, you can eat the roses.

I like the whipped fluffy frosting, and I do eat the flowers. If you don't want to use the frosting flowers, use real ones. (you can still eat them too... )
