he's doing great. there's an update every tuesday at upenn.net, just go to this site and type in 'barbaro' in the little box on the upper right. as of last tuesdays update, they have taken the boot they were using for support off of his left hind(the one with laminitis), and they just have it bandaged now because it is healing so well. it's still going to take a while though, because the hoof has to finish growing back(where it had acually fallen off). it's kind of like if your toenail was ripped out, it would take months to grow back. they are seriously considering removing the cast completely from his right hind(the one broken in the preakness), because they are confident it is just about completely healed. for a while after he contracted laminitis, he was being supported by a full body sling, but he has been out of that for over a month now. he is also being taken outside every day to graze in the fields. according to the doctors, he is happy, healing, and has a great appetite

All I know is he survived his surgery and I think he is still going through physical therpy.

He is doing fine. He has been able to walk and is eating very well according to his Vet.
