You see-Religious types will state that there had to be something to create The Universe and because they could not find the answer developed an entity called God to describe creation & found it easy to point convincingly @ this thing they called God-because NOW they had an answer for Creation & Being. It was further supported by a doctrine of "I AM"-have always been and will always be, for I AM the beginning and the end. This justified their convictions and explained many variables-and man, being a great story teller, devised rhetoric that enabled these possibilities-Quran-Bible-Dead-Sea Scrolls-New Testament-which lead to mans aligning himself with those that believed as he did and to prejudice those that did not. It even exists today as RELIGION causes ASSociation through similar beliefs. However-as a man-I must ask-WHAT CAUSED CREATION? If God created all of this then WHY? Something was lacking in its own facility or faculty in order to NEED? NEEDed POWER? Proof? Recognition?LUV

To the BIG BANGERS:
What was before the blob that appeared from nowhere for some unknown reason. From some unexplained and unimportant reason. Then ,I guess,it lit it's own fuse or dropped something to cause the bang. The bang or the blob caused the universe?

We are human - we are not meant to understand what God has in mind. There are all sorts of theories and ideas. Humans try so hard to explain things in a scientific realm of reasoning when you can't explain God in those terms. They can certainly co exist but they are not meant to justify each other.

Here's one of my favorite stories that obliquely addresses your question.

I was at a spaghetti supper held in a church recreation hall and noticed a bulletin board with a lot of post cards pinned to it. Apparently a Sunday school teacher had asked her class of first graders to write a post card to God. There were many expected requests from these youngsters from toy store orgies to revenge against some perceived evil-doer but one in particular stopped me in my tracks. It asked one simple yet profound question:

"Dear God,

How did you know you were God."

B4 creation, God was.
God felt compelled to manifest.
He hummed a Sound.
Voila! there was Light.

Now before you complain that it's not very godlike to have compulsions, let me just say that Manifesting is an attribute of deity, not a personality defect, for god has no personality, except that with which we anthropomorphise Him. ;-)

It is better to love and care for your fellow human beings, than to waist your time on an imaginary thing. Religion is leading people down the wrong road, look at the islam in the middle east or northern Ireland to name a few.

Boredom and an evil mind....

God was bored, sitting there all by his lonesome for....well, not for any length of time, because not even time existed then...so he was just sitting there, picking his azz, and was really bored....so he thought "What fun it would be to create a world in which I can force the inhabitants to worship me or face eternal damnation in hell fire.... I shall convince them that I love them, and I will provide them with the illusion of free will....but in reality they will be nothing more than my little pet ant farm for me to experiment with."

Finally, some sane person that denies the existance of God.

Smart person you are.

I just can't understand why people would drop the fact that the Earth is a square, but can't drop the fact that God is nothing more than a figment of our imaginations.

Not needed, wanted. Love desires someone to share that love with. Humans were created to be God's companions.
