After viewing this the whole concept of marriage seems like a broken institution. Should we just outlaw marriage altogether...I mean it seems today a very large majority is just concerned with premarital sex...why just not live together and commit sin openly? Why destroy the sacred concept of marriage with lust?

It seems after the sexual revolution marriage has failed across the board...excluding some couples of course...

The world is quite corrupt, indeed. I don't think that there are many of us who still believe in waiting until marriage. I believe whole-heartedly that you should wait. American values are long gone.... nobody cares about values anymore... it's quite sad, actually.

No it is not premarital sex that is destroying American values and age old concepts. I believe that it is the mind set of man which is the destroyer. Marriage is a commitment,a heartfelt sacred promise to stick with, be behind, (as in got yo back) another individual for life. Many are unwilling, unable, or afraid to make this commitment because to commit means to work out daily knowing that the work out may results in sweat, tears, laughter, loneliness, frustration or just down right unrequited love. Although there are no promises with the commitment , there are oh so many possibilities, yet most are too afraid to commit, let alone try, therefore they choose sex which is not a relationship, nor is it an true or safe American value just an animalistic reaction.

Well its possible this could be true. Kinda makes sense. Its sad but marriage is getting to be more like high school dating it seems.
Waiting till marriage is an excellent rule. In my case though, I dont nessarly follow it. Im still a virgin but Im not tring to have sex either. Weather it happens soon or I wait till I marriage, doesnt matter to me. Though I guess a huge part of me does want to wait, my goal is to be dating for atleast 2-3 years.
Im much more intrested in the relationship it self, and not so much the physical benifits. I just want to love and be loved, but I guess if my gf seriously wanted to, then maybe I would concider it. As for my side, I wont ever ask for it or try to push her into doing it.

Yes, it usually leads to divorce, broken families,or stressed children/teens. It's like we think of marriage as a little game but the truth is that it is a COMMITMENT to GOD when we wed. Outlawing marriage will not make the country have freedom of religion.

People used to stay together to avoid the stigma of divorce. I saw my mother grow old and die a very unhappy woman and I refuse to let that happen to me. Of course her circumstances were a little different. (My father died at 45 and she was left with five children to raise at the age of 39.) She never remarried, developed Crohn's disease and then terminal cancer. I do believe that stress can affect a person's health and well-being, and lord knows she had plenty of that.

The question of whether or not you are legally married isn't the real problem. It is whether or not you love each other. How many people are legally married but have no feelings for their partners? And how many cohabitating couples lack the marriage certificate, but love each other dearly?

This is a nice question, but there is no way to fix this because people are basically selfish. Thus, they will choose their own interests at the expense of a marriage.

No premarital sex is not destroying American values. Not growing up and taking responsability for your actions is destroying American values.

not premarital sex specifically, but a general loosening
of standards. too many people thing everything they
do is all right because after all it isn't all that bad. we
need to get back to labeling wrong openly and publicly
as wrong.
