Firstly dont worry! I have felt less like going out with my mates recently and feel i need to be at home alone more. Your confidence has taken a knock somewhere along the line. Sometimes i sit here and think that i really dont feel like being around people. You are just trying to get your head around these feelings. Maybe see a counsellor? Your doctor could refer you. Tell someone close to you how u are feeling. Try not a cancel on your friends. They might not understand why. Take small steps, you will feel better eventually. Best of luck!

Sounds like you're not quite out of the forest yet as far as the depression goes. Don't push yourself too hard, but try cancelling out a little less often and do go and talk to a therapist or doctor.

I am not a mental health professional, but it sounds to me like you may have people anxiety. I went through the same thing when I was younger. I didn't like to go out to places like grocery stores or movie theatres or anything like that. I didn't like meeting new people and only hung with one or two people. It's hard to get out of that slump, but you just have to tell yourself that people aren't out to get you, and that there are actually some really awesome people out there. Start small, like have someone you hang out with introduce you to one other person they know and go from there. It's a hard road, but it's worth it at the end.

If you are avoiding contact with others that you like or even love, then your depression is not under control. Suggest you consult your doctor or a therapist and find out why you are avoiding contact, and if maybe you need additional meds or different meds.

ok, you are not ok, if this concerns you... you could be anti-social, it's a part of depression .it's normal to not want to be bothered.. it's dangerous to isolate yourself from anyone and everyone... stay away from judgemental people, people who tell u to snap out of it... not helpful... find someone you can always count on to cheer you up... and find an activity you enjoy...try going out once in a while...

sometimes when you don't want to be around people is the time when you NEED to be around people. others are attempting interaction with you....so it's not like you need to worry about if they like you or not...just take the chance of going out and having a great time.

you can't take a leap of faith without first jumping!
