At least a hundred or more deadly chemicals; including carbon monoxide, ammonia, embalming fluid; and the list goes on.
There are cigarettes that contain no chemicals. One of them is "American Spirit". They are pure tobacco. Of course, no cigarette is safe. You would still be taking in tar and nicotine.

The state of Massachusetts has forced the tobacco companies to publish a yearly list and tobacco is just one of the things that are put in. Also each year the cig companies have been adding more nicotine to the tobacco they use in their cigs as per that statement.

Hundreds of nasty chemicals. There is nicotine and a host of toxic carbon compounds in the smoke like benzene, carbon monoxide and the kind of sooty chemicals that come out of car exhausts.
