I have some stubborn baby fat. My hubby is fasting during Ramadan.. I decided to join in. I know this will slow my metabolism significantly, but I was wondering if anyone out there had ever fasted and lost weight, and how did they do it? Did they cut out breads? Are you able to exercise 30 min a day without feeling extreme fatigue? Any guidance will be appreciated.

The best way to fast during Ramadan is to fast the way Mohammed (pbuh) fasted. He would break fast with about three dates and some water, then after prayer, he would have a moderate meal. That's the whole point of fasting. To eat in moderation. You can have three meals, which is actually recommended, but make sure they aren't heavy. If you eat this way during Ramadan, you should lose weight with no problems. Plus, you will also be getting enough calories so you won't feel hungry, but still get the benefits of the fast. It would also be great if you became a Muslim. That way, you would also get the spiritual benefits of fasting as well, not just the physical. Peace.

There are three main ways to lose weight quickly.

1) Use only water as liquid and eliminate all other liquid drinks from your diet. You must drink as much water as possible every day. You must drink about half of your weight. If you have weight of 200 pounds then you must drink about 100 oz of water.

2) The interval between the eating is very important. If you eat once, then you must eat next after 4 hours. You must take breakfast regularly. In the night eat your food three hours before going to bed.

3) Walking is very good. You must walk as much as you can. Walk everywhere you can. Use of elevators and escalators must be reduced and instead of these you must climb stairs more often.

These are some of the fastest ways to lose weight. By just following the simple steps, you can lose your weight very quickly. You must consult your doctor if want to change your diet or exercise routine.

People fast by leaving ouy certain types of food,drinks,etc.Some fast leave out all food and maybe drink water only.Not eating is still the best way to lose weight.

If you fast according to the rules, you will actually end up eating a lot less, because you just won't feel like eating too much. You will also have halitosis, so avoid people.

Fasting will make you fatter in the long run. It will slow your metabolism. Initially you will lose weight but you will gain it all back with more body fat and less muscle. Oprah is a fine example of yoyo dieting.
