If your daughter has a mental illness, try to find an ACT program (Assertive Community Treatment) in your area.
You can contact your local mental health center, NAMI office, or go to: http://www.nami.org/template.cfm?section=act-ta_center&template=/contentmanagement/contentdisplay.cfm&contentID=10650

AA doesn't have a very good success rate to begin with, but for those with a dual diagnosis, it's even lower.

If she is homebound due to a physical disability, perhaps you should get in touch with SOS or SMART, both have online boards that deal with recovery.

i've got not got an extremely extreme opinion of AA. it extremely is a unfavourable non secular cult. It has a 5 % fulfillment value that's an identical fulfillment value as quitting on your own, yet they declare their way is the only way and that to be triumphant you may admit you're POWERLESS over alcohol and that basically a greater physically powerful means could provide you basically a on a regular basis Quitting on ones own is the main suitable way and it has a decrease mortality value. AA has an extremely extreme mortality value.

I have no experience with the East Hartford chapter but I do have experience with other chapters in CT. I highly recommend AA. For you, it would be extremely beneficial for you to look into AL-ANON or AL-ATEEN. These groups are for loved ones of alcoholics and they helped me tremendously. You'll learn what you're up against, how to cope, what alcoholism is, and what your options are for helping her. This is for you, not her, so don't wait. You'll be in a much better position to deal with this once you're armed with information.

I wish you all the best. You've got a long and extremely difficult road ahead if your suspicions are correct.
