Can no one read anymore? A dictionary, encyclopedia or a standard reference work in the question's subject area would quickly answer many
of the questions. One example I saw posted was
how many millimeters in a centimeter! I can hardly
believe this was a serious question from someone
who did not know the answer.

Because people are lazy. In the case of the students asking for homework answers, what good does it do to give them the answer?? They learn NOTHING by someone giving them the answer. It aggravates me. They are on a computer, they can google it themselves, but they are even too lazy to do that.
