It's the first Jeep in recent history to come in 2 wheel drive with 4 wheeld drive ( actually it's all wheel drive) as an option.
The Caliber is better looking in my opinion.

Chrysler made 3 vehicles, Jeep Compass & Liberty and the Dodge Caliber, on a very similar platform. They all offer 4 cylinder 1.8L and 2.0L "World Engines", as well as a VW diesel in Europe.

The Dodge Nitro is larger than the other 3 vehicles, and is based on the Jeep Liberty. For engines, the Liberty offers a 2.4L four-cylinder and 3.7L V6 gas engine. Also offered were 2 diesel engines: a 2.5L and eventually a 2.8L.
At this time, the Nitro offers only two V6 gas engines: a 3.7L and a 4.0L model.

A very poor excuse for a jeep. It's a dodge caliber with a different grill and certainly not "trail rated"
