Proverbs 1:7
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom........

James 3:
13Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. 14But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. 15Such "wisdom" does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil. 16For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.

One does attain a certain wisdom,I believe it comes from the awareness that GOD dwells within you as you. That it is my own sense of self seperate from GOD which I must work through.I accept that everything that happens to me is of my own making,I alone am responsible. After i accepted this responsibility I noticed I had aquired a certain inexplicable wisdom .

I am aware of unwise decisions that I have made in the past and I do know some wise people but they don't go around saying they are wise nor do I. In fact, I've always heard that if somebody says he's (or she) wise, then you can bet that they don't have a clue. I suppose the person who inserted that into the Bible knew that too. Even Buddhism has a teaching and it goes something like "if you say you that you are enlightened, then you are not. But if you say you are not enlightened, then you are about as close to enlightenment as one can get". That is one of the reasons I question the validity of all these so-called experts on the subject of God and spirituality. For me, anyway, My concept of God is much too complex for any human to explain in words and I certainly don't put a face and personality on God like some folks do. That really is the height of arrogance. As far as someone declaring that they are wise, and if your read the bible then you may have come across the 7 deadly sins. Pride is first for a reason. And I believe spiritual pride is the worst. For whoever humbles himself will be exalted and whoever exalts himself will be humbled.

no one is wise, because those who are wise, know that they can never learn everything; therefore, they cannot be wise. Those that say they are wise are not because they haven't learned a very simple lesson; no one is wise.
it's a lose lose situation.
The lord is not the beginning of wisedom... you are not wise if you believe in someone else guiding you through life. You should do things for yourself. There is no lord, have you ever thought about the old gods that romans and greeks used to have, one for war, one for the sun, one for weather... we now know how those things work and we know that gods do not control it. so what do you think people are going to prove in at least a few hundred years? probably they will figure out what those who have a little wisedom have already figured out... there is no god to control everything.

Fear is the mind killer, fear is the little death that brings total obliteration. (Dune)

If you allow fear to control your actions and thoughts, you are not wise. Wisdom comes from understanding fear(and other emotions) and not allowing it to control you, but rather using your knowledge and understanding to overcome fear(and other emotions) and transcend the inherent ignorance of blind emotional decision.

PS I never said that I am wise, and I never will... I can only say I try to tread the path of wisdom through continued learning for the rest of my life

The term Sudhay, found in Fraudulism, means "wise leader". I guess those guys must be wise. They have some pretty profound ideas that make more sense than any of the other religions.

I am a Christian on a quest for wisdom. Each day leads me a little bit closer but it seems like I get almost there and then I slide a little further back.
