dude, does it really matter? I would not recommend consuming products past the sell date.

When a package states 'best if used buy' with a date this tells of the date that the package is at its maximum freshness & taste. There is a store in my city which sells product beyond this recommended date. As long as the package remains sealed there is still great value and edibility in the product. Foods which can spoil (eggs, dairy, meats, etc..) should be discarded after the date has passed.

Sell by date:means the product is good for several days after the sell by date (usually 3 to 5 days)...
Use by date: means just that , use it by that date or throw it away , it's only good till that date..

The sell date is the date it needs to be removed from the shelf and not sold. Use by still shouldn't be sold but is for the consumer so you know that it should be fresh till that date.

It really does not matter. As long as you consume the product by the sell date and use date, you should not encounter problems.
