I don't think so. Wouldn't it be beneficial to bring life where there is none?

It would depend upon what is on that particular planet. If it requires the killing of other life forms, Id say that terraforming another planet could be unethical....

When humans as a species appeared on earth we changed the earth. we have polluted the land and destroyed forests in the name of progress did anybody think about the ethics of destroying the Earth? NO they did not. Though I don't see anything ethically wrong with terraforming an uninhabited planet I do not know that we should be given a chance when we did such a crappy job with this one.

Given the utter uniqueness of every terrestrial planet we know of - which admittedly isn't many - it seems to be in some ways a lot worse than, say, paving over Yellowstone Park. It's getting rid of an irreplaceable natural resource.

But unethical? Well, I can't quite say that. But it shouldn't be taken lightly.

Besides, it always seems to go terribly wrong in the all the science-fiction stories.

No, why would it be? We, as sentients, change the environment to our advantage. It's within our nature. It's natural for us to mess with the natural order of things. It would only be unethical if we caused genocide of other sentients or wiped out whole biospheres as a result of the terraforming.

If you mean doing away with the oceans, that seems to be a description of the new earth in Revelation (no more sea). Yes, God is ethical.

Depends. Is there life already on the planet? If not, I don't see why it would be.
