before any mention of a mono-theistic deity, be considered 'wrong' but yours correct?

Thanx for the answers...
However, ***if there were only two people (Adam & Eve) to begin with, how did so many different theological thoughts start w/o the mention of an individual 'spirit' with human personality traits?***
True, there is scant reference to a supreme deity, but it's a mixture of everything else, an adjective, not an individual, and even if it was a personality, why would it be jealous of worshipping part of itself?
Sorry, the Xian answers only seem to lead to other questions...

I wanted to let 'pearly gator' know
!.)I was not talking about the Indians predecesors, (Mongoloids) I was refering to the very complex group of societies that existed (apparently w/o Middle Eastern knowledge) that worshipped nature
2.)Interesting theory-I have several books about different Celtic deities and stories about them-BTW, not one has a description even close to Yahweh/God...AND, last night, I saw a 'Lost World's' episode that gave a description of a religious ceremony involving Stonehenge. Granted, it's only a guess, but I don't see how anything remaining can be associated with a jewish associated mono-religion.
3.)if you read Genesis 1 & 2, one says God created Adam & Eve, the other says 'man & woman' but doesn't specify how many. I bring this up b/c there are several differences between the two accts, so 'man & woman' by itself is not very clear
'ffrf.org' can give Bible quotes of the differncs

I think it is because "god" himself (I mean his "ghost writer") said in the bible that "ye shall worship no other gods before me" and that is continually misinterpreted to mean there are no other gods when I can only read that it means there ARE other gods and this one "yahweh" is petty and jealous and wants all the praise for himself. All the traits of this god are the exact traits we use in modern society to describe a sociopathic personality and haven't we learned not to hang out with sociopaths?

Boy oh boy I just love how an actual free thought is stomped on if it conflicts with americhristian ideology.

It is a false assumption that these other religions came before any mention of a monotheistic deity. You can convince yourself of that if you remove the Bible as a historical document but it does not make it any less true.
As people were going off on their own and creating their own Gods and false doctrines- God was still sending His faithful few out with the message of the coming Messiah and with his perfect instruction.
True Christianity- not by religion but by definition existed at the very begining- God told Adam and Eve that a Messiah would come- referring to Christ Jesus- all believers from that time looked forward to the cross as we look back to it- they were "Christians" in a sense of the word but did not have a name Yeshua- Jesus- they did not see Him in hte flesh- but they knew him through God's word, His prophets , His perfect instruction and the feasts.

There's several problems with your premise. 1. Native American "Indians" are Mongoloids. 2. Celtic history was destroyed by Rome so there's nothing to go on and no evidence of their religious system ESPECIALLY neo-Paganism. 3. Monotheism goes back to Adam and Eve and therefore predates all other religious systems.

Christians worship the God of the ancient Hebrews.

I'm Christian, and I think there is truth in all religions. In fact,
Native Americans believed in the Great Spirit over all other
spirits. I personally teach the Way of the Warrior.
Why do people cry about being stereotyped, then stereotype
others should be the question?

Your question is like asking why some people prefer Hot-dogs while others like Hamburgers or Tacos better.

To answer your question, I think people don't always follow the best possible diet all the time; just like that they don't necessary follow the most rational set of believe they could reason with. Most just follow what feels good.

Especially when nobody could proof anything in reality. Leap of faith is just that.

Not to mention Greek, Roman, Byzantium, Egyptian, and Pagan Gods too......

See, none of those cultures had the nerve to write a book that SAYS those other Gods are fake, but this one is real.....

well they were wrong in the fact that the elves draw markings on them that protect them in battle (celts), cause they went to war with Rome, and some died.

but seriously all thier religons are right, compatable(idk what the right word would be)
but anyway, they all believe in one super-God who is in charge of the others, and they all believe that people should be good to each other, so yes, they all have truth, just in a different package.

They didn't.
Adam, Eve, Cain & Abel worshiped Yaveh, The Lord God, before any of those religions came along. Judaism has been around for more than 4,000 years.

I am not Christian, but realize that they feel their god to be the "only true" god, and all other religions to be 'false'.

When you consider that the oldest religions on the planet recognize and practice tolerance of other faiths, and that Christianity is 2000 years old - compared to say 10,000 years of Hinduism - their position can be seen is immature.

Christianity started with Adam and Eve, and even before the creation of the world. That means it pre-dates all of them. Nice try.
