Hello!! :o) I hope you're OK. The Bible seems to make it clear that it is a 'sin' to LUST. But what IS 'lust' - exactly?! What do YOU think it means?! I tend to believe that 'to lust' is to 'obsess over something'. Some say that lust is ANY sexual thought or feeling. But if that is true - how does a man avoid the sin of lust and have sex with his wife?! Have a great day!! Craig!! :o)

There are many things besides sex that can cause lust. Money, power, popularity, acceptance, any number of things can you lust after. God tells us when we lust for somethig, riches, power or whatever that is lik your God then, and that is putting another God before our God and that is where it becomes sinful. God says you shall have no other gods before Me.

Lust is not just sexual desire. King Solomon said, "The eyes do not get enough of seeing, and the ears hearing". Look how we
blow our eardrums out when young with loud music, for a sensual pleasure. Lust is our senses wanting to be stimulated.
Whatever looks good, sounds good. feels good, DO IT!
Even if the end result isn't any good for us.

When I separate the person from who they are, i.e. a body part, that person has an incredible bottom, or they are hot, I am separating the person from who they are to how they appear/look. I am also idealizing who they are based on the objectification of their body, i.e., because that person is hot, I would like to get to know them, or somehow they are appealing emotionally mentally because they are hot. As I am objectifying, lust shows itself in fantasy. What would I like, what would I like to do with and to them. So I would say when the idealized picture of this person is replaced with reality, IE., who they really are. You can accept and be willing to see past faults, issues, problems because Love carries no jealousy, love doesn't judge, love don't do anything for self gratitude, love gives unconditionally, love is trust, love is respect, love is truth!

Lust is the opposite of love. To love a person you love them for who they are. Lust is like rapist that rapes a person slits their throat and throws them away like a piece of trash.

Lust is selfish and only thinking of your wants and your fullfillment your sexual desires. it is only pleasing you, and your sexual desires, where as in a marriage it is pleasing your partner becuase you love them. it is not fullfilling your own sex drives but something that is so deep that it makes you feel so connected beyond anything else.
