The ones you find on the web are not free or they are don't work. You can't get both there.

Instead look in the Sunday paper ads for staples and compusa. They are always having sales where you get a full rebate on a real anti-virus program like McAfee or Norton. That is the best place to get them.

By the way the companies that make these programs are always updating them so they never fail to have files that cover the latest viruses. The ones on the web do not have the money to continuously create files to fight new viruses.

AVG from Grisoft used to have a free one that was pretty good. Don't know if they still have a free one. Try http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1.
