It could be down to the love chemical oxytocin. This is released in our brains when we kiss and when we make love. It promotes pair bonding. The male hormone testosterone counteracts the effect of oxytocin in the body so men are less prone to this pair bonding chemical.

Well, MOST girls think they need to have a man in their life to feel happy, which in some cases is true. Also because not enough females know when and when not to get too comfortable with a person. Women care too much, and men care relatively the same amount, but they play it down because men are expected to put up a front(whether you ladies admit it or not, when a woman sees her man cry, she will never look at him quite the same way again). Women are somewhat expected to be emotional and it grows into a person's personality which is why women are subconciously more emotionally involved. I've already mastered the whole distance thing, i've never really been hurt just a bit disappointed.

Girls are more into wanting a guy for long term because they need to have that commitment to feel loved and needed, guys don't much care because they are wanting to be with all the girls they can be before making a true commitment . It is just the Way it is..

That is the way our brains and hormones are developed. I think that is really general statement though, there are some men that want a serious relationship and some females who don't.

Evolution. guys evolved to propegate. girls to have a provider, a family, children protection. YES I know how it sounds. Nature is sexist. but the species survived because of it.
