i work in a medical clinic and see this often. you will need to buy rid shampoo and treat your home and bedding with rid spray. if this fails to work then you may have to cut the long hair

Take them away from the house for the night after treating them. Get help treating them - even it if means that you have to pick out each egg yourself individually. Have someone watch the kids while you THOROUGHLY clean your house. If there is so much as one, small egg still in the house, they will get lice again. Then you will have to do this all over again. Just get that house as clean as possible - hire people to come in and help you if you can. And just get help from family or friends for cleaning the kids' heads. See if your doctor can prescribe something that works even better. And when all is said and done, wash those kids' sheets every single day. Good luck - I know it's no fun.

Try the Lice Meister comb. Also tumble dry the bedding EVERY day. I used rubbing alcohol on my daughter's hair to kill the lice. Just be careful to keep it out of eyes. I had tried Rid and another brand and they did not work at all.

Have you tried applying an oil to the hair, or a gel, my daughter n law tried this, and she said it worked, she has used the combs that electrocute and the Rid, she had to wash everything in the house, she even thought about streaking Malia's hair, a hair stylists told her that the chemicals in the hair tend to scare them little guys away.
Good Luck, been there, Take Care

I actually heard of a service where women come to people's houses and remove the lice. They also sterilize and wash all the bedsheets, clothes, etc. I wouldn't know how to find this service though. Maybe your pediatrician would know.

dye their hair with their same color. It happened to my daughter. Make sure you clean their room really good. Nothing over the counter will work.
