Family has to be the most important. But that shouldn't mean you have to choose between them or a career. Your family would want you to happy in all areas of life including work. If you live very far away it doesn't mean you love or care any less.
Theres always ways to keep in touch and let them know their in your thoughts. E-mail,phone,chat sites etc..oh yes and good old fashioned letter writing.
Try talking to family and friends you really trust and so long as you don't let others influence you the answer will come.
Remember though that whatever you decide you can always change your mind if you are not happy.xx

i take it you do not mean your own family (husband/wife and kids). you are only 20 years old. the whole world is in front of you, just waiting for you. your family will always be there, and will understand if you want to move far away.

i'm speaking from personal experience. my fam and friends are from california, and i moved to NY for 7 years. i missed them tremendously, but they understood. and then, i found my dream job in san francisco, so i came back "home." i do not regret moving to NY, and it was actually a growing experience for me.

i don't know i just did the same thing. i know you will mess them if you are as close as u say you are. sometime you just have to take a chance to see what is out there for you your still young. go out and see new things if you don't like it then go home.
