Well, it depends on the ambiance and your mood... If you are at a Sport Bar, watching some games and are in a more "rowdy" mood, I prefer something spicy like Hot Buffalo Wings with a lot of Blue Cheese, Celery Stiks, Mini-Egg Rolls, Spare Ribs with BBQ Sauce, Onion Rings, Supreme Nachos, Fried Calamari or Stuffed Jalapenos. In this scenario I Pay from $3 to $10.
If you are on a more romantic date or formal bar, try a Ceviche, Sushi, some Spicy Seafood Salad, Skirt Stake, Chorizo al Vino , Brie Cheese, Anti-Pasto, Pesto Spread, Hummus and/or shrimp cocktail. Here I pay from $6 to $14. These dishes are often offered on high-end Restaurants.

The places I have gone for happy hour have cheaper drink and beer prices, plus usually have a few things free to eat. It is usually buffet style and doesn't have just a ton of items, but if the atmosphere is right and the drinks are good as well as the food then you will go back which is what the management is counting on.

Finger foods something you can make a lot of such as buffalo wings usually they runa quarter a wing during specials also peel and eat shrimp and cheese sticks don't make the food too expensive because unless your running great drink specials I would pay a lot. You could also do a drink and food combined special like wings and a pitcher for ten bucks I wouldn't pay more than six dollars for happy hour food snacks

I pay anywhere from $6 to $10. I eat for two reasons: one the food coats my stomach so I don't get too drunk, and second it makes the bar owner happy thus free drinks.
