They have had them for years. They crush the battery, destroying the plastic and saving the lead. The place they do this is called a smelter. Sorry.

Recycle how.......put in one and get a new one.......grind it up into bits? In Sweden a guy invented a tire shredding machine, a real monster, you feed it tires, any steel in the tire would be pulled out by magnets. As you know, newer tires did have steel in them, "steel belted radials". I've seen one, MAN what an invention, worked out great too, it shreded the tires into the consistences of "kitty litter", they found many uses for it.......adding it to the asphalt for roads, making other rubber. While in Viet-Nam I did some operations around the "rubber plantation", the first time I ever seen an actual "rubber tree", if you never seen one you wouldn't know the difference..LATER...

Only if you can do it at the store, so people can bring in their bad battery, shove it in the machine, add coins and pull out the fixed battery.

GREAT, but what will your machine be able to do that will fix the battery? Or is it just collecting the batteries? I don't think you understand how a battery works, or you wouldn't have these thoughts.

I think you may find it already exists. It has been possible to buy reconditioned batteries for many years.
Sorry, back to the drawing board.
