Yes the term twin means they just shared lodgings while being created. They're either are identical thus from the same egg, which split, or non-identical which was two eggs fetilised at the same time. I went to school with twin sisters, one was a year above the other as one was born 5 mins before the school cut off deadline and one was born 5 minutes after the school cut of dealine.

Twins are defined by being fraternal (relase and fertilization of two ova) or identical (same genetic makeup). Not when they were born. I had a friend in high school who her fraternal twin brother was born 2 days later just after new years.

Twins, just with different birth dates.

Yes they are still twins. My cousin had twins born two weeks apart!!! She went into early labour and had Harry first and the doctors managed to stop her contractions. Libby was born two weeks later by c-section after my cousins blood pressure went really high!! They are both now 3 years old.

Being twins has nothing to do with what time or day they are born. If they were in the womb together, of course they are twins.

the definition of a twin is "One of two offspring born at the same birth" according to the american heritage dictionary. that means they were born on the same birth, so there was no gap where the woman became pregnant separately again. therefore, they share the same birth, but not the same birthday neccesarily.
it is just more likely

Yes, they'd be twins because they shared the womb at the same time, but they would have different birthdays. This is actually quite common.
