Maybe she just isn't the outdoorsy type of person. Ever think of that?

Motivation. Get a BABYSITTER on a Sunday afternoon. What is her favorite place out doors? Make a picnic with strawberries, chocolate, cheese, crackers, whatever, ( bring her fav wine/drink and a CD or tape of songs from back when you where kidless to play), don't forget a blanket (not her new bedspread) and take her... just the two of you ... once a month. Call it a date. Give her notice you are going on a date a few days ahead and leave teasers around. A slip of paper Saying "Sunday at noon ~ Sexy". During the week bring up a pre-kid adventure to remind her of romance. Wine and dine her. Romance her. She's more than a Mommy. Maybe she needs a mini non-mommy vacation. Then go somewhere else with your kid on non-date Sundays. That will make her feel special and get her motivated to go out with the two of you more! She's probably in the Mommy dumps. Be a prince, I doubt she'll be able to resist your charms!

Jeff, you could start by figuring out what it is that is making her so tired. Being tired all the time could be a medical or mental condition and she may need to seek advice from a doctor.
Make every outing a family event. All for one and one for all. Surely she wouldn't be so selfish as to deprive her daughter from doing things that are fun. See if you can involve the things that interest her with the activities that interest you and your daughter. I wish you all the best with this endeavor.

Maybe you could ask her what she would like to do. I know hiking in the woods prob isnt her cup of tea but maybe a walk in the park? a swim in a pool (dont know if you have one immed. available)? have you tried to see why she is so tired? does she work? maybe suggesting that you get out and do a small activity a couple times a week would be nice for her to get out and the exercise will make her less tired. Also, helping out around the house so that she has the ability to leave it is good for her too, although I dont know how much you do already :)

Make her feel like she's missing out on all the fun ... have your daughter tease her about how lazy she is ... that will really get under the skin and make her do things outside ... tell her how much you miss spending all that time with her ... come up with a few trips for you all to take as a family ... camping, hiking, skiing, whatever it is you all enjoy doing ... !
Push the guilt ... my daughter can make me get off my butt any minute of the day ... just by that sad puppy look of her playing by herself and wanting to spend that special time with me ... she'll always remember who played with her all those years when she was little ... and so do I ... !

well, what do have at your disposal. Are you near water? I read in another question you like to hike.
I myself love to kayak, and that is VERY relaxing, and ultra low impact.
Sometimes it takes just the right activity before the person becomes thrilled to do it. I myself hate to get in a canoe, but love to kayak.
just a thought, because I don't really know where you are.

tell her how you feel and let her know how much it means to you and your daughter that you wont to do more things as a family and ask her if there is anything you can do to help her out so she is not so tired. that way she can go and enjoy it .hope this helps and good luck

you knew that your wife was not outdoorsey before you got married. Dont try and change her. Instead YOU should change. Find some indoor activity that your wife can enjoy, too.

Take her on a treasure hunt for jewellery you have hidden - that would work for me!
