Been there a few times. A couple of times when I lived in Northern France and took the ferry from Calais to Folkestone. Love England. London similar to NYC with the arts, culture, and the electricity. Also visited Stratford upon Avon in the north country. Countryside spectacular. Best part about England, however, the folks there are so polite. Given the fact that I grew up in NYC, I was in complete state of culture shock on how polite everyone was.

I live in London and love it - well most things about it. England has many nice scenic places and some of its traditions are still around although I am not sure for how much longer they will be allowed.

I'm English through and through...we have a great country here full of wonderful scenery, rolling green hills, charm, history and eccentrics!
macarthur...Stratford on Avon is NOT in the north country...Shakespeare would be turning in his grave if he could read that!

green, rolling hills, quaint villages. London is crowded ! Filled with interesting old buildings and huge parks and statues everywhere.
