Right after he was stung, all of the hairs on his body stood on end for about 2 hours. he has been really sleepy and complains that he is not resting well and is very tired. The swelling and redness is all around the area of the sting and down his chest till about his ribcage. He has also had a headache, but not sure if it's related. He took benadryl one day and an allegra the next day. still no change. now what should he do?

Keep the Benadryl going regularly as directed on the box (even in the middle of the night). It sounds like an allergic reaction, and you don't want it to get worse. Call the doctor in the AM and be sure to take him to the ER if he starts complaining of more pain or shortness of breath. Be sure to have the doctor test him for allergies, if it's bad enough they'll precribe him an Eppi pen in case of emergencies.

I have been bitten by honeybee many times when I was a small boy and although it is painful, it gets will automatically within few days. In the meantime, you can add little camphor in coconut oil and apply on affected part of your husband thrice a day to get rid of itching, if any. Rub ice on swelling and apply onion juice and papaya pulp also. If you husband is feeling tired and lightheaded and have respiratory problems, seek medical attention immediately without ignoring and wasting time. Bee sting can be fatal also. Take a good care of your husband.

Continue with the Benadryl and have him checked by a doctor. He might need to carry epinephrine, Bee Sting Kit, with him from now on. Next sting could cause worse problems. Sounds like he is having a bad bee sting reaction.

Take him to the emergency room- he's having a severe allergic reaction. My husband is a landscaper and is stung nearly every day ... the swelling from a sting is usually completely gone over night.

The best home remedy that I know is. Go to the store a buy chewing tobacco and have your husband put it directly on the bee sting and it will drawn out the poison in it. Good luck and I hope this is affect for you as it was for me. But if it don't get better go to the doctor. But try this first it really does work.

I had to take antihistamines for about 4 days for the symptoms to go down but you really should take him to the hospital. The headache can be a symptom as well. Good luck.
