I went out with this girl on Friday night and we had a blast. We're going to go out again next weekend. I mentioned that I liked football. She said she did, too, and she'd like to learn more about it. So I suggested we have a picnic in the park, then watch some football together. She said she'd like that Does that seem too much like I'm controlling the date? Should I bring a backup, like a chick flick, and pop it in instead of football?

If she said she likes football and wants to learn mor about it, it sounds like you have the perfect setup for a date. She agreed to it, so it isn't like you are controlling the situation.

Just watch her to see if she is having fun and be more focussed on her than on the game. If she seems like she is losing interest, see if she would prefer to change activities at that time. Have several ideas in mind to offer as suggetions in case this does occur.

Girls are not only interested in "chick flicks". Be open to various ideas. A picnic sounds great. If you have roller blades or bikes, you COULD make that as a possible secondary activity of the football falls through (so to speak).

I hope you have a good time!

wow... Sounds like your about to score a touchdown "In football ofcourse" hehe
I think your on the right track... Although the thought of you surprising her with a chick flick is cute, you always need to think about the "what ifs"
what if she doesnt really like chick flicks? or what if the one you will show is not one she would like? what if that gesture is ssoo uncommon in a man, that she will begin to think your trying too hard? Day dates are cool because it gives you a chance to be layed back with each other and casual so the park will be PERFECT! take a football and show her how to throw a football? if she has a dog or you have a dog bring it along and walk him (only if he is well behaived, if not the idea can turn on you)
picnic is cute but have something else ready to back up the day so you two wont get bored!
then meet again at night give her plenty of time to refresh herself and get all pretty. If you drop her off wait until she is in the house then leave, and dont call her until she calls you, doing that you give her space to get ready in peace without being too attatched.
Girl rule # 1 : Us women love sweet guys but Hate overly "I will give you anything and everything and I will be waiting by the phone for your next call kind of guy. Be sweet but not sticky, we like to feel beautiful and loved but girls just as guys get annoyed with someone that wont respect space... but that is later on...just focus on getting to know her and be completely honest please dont say things or lies just so she could hear what she wants from you. That never turns out right.

she is just been nice if the girl dose not know much about football that she cares less about football, i say you do something other then football, you can explain some of the basics of the game to her but do not do this for the hole entire date don't even do it for more than 25 minutes if you are looking forward to another date with this girl. I say get another movie both of you might enjoy action or drama ever comedy. The only way is to maybe to play the spot with her take a football and go to the park. Or even if you go back to you place and play football, like this you can get close to her and she will not fell like you are moving to fast. do not invite any one but only you 2.

Action:
Running Scared
16 Blocks
Edison Fores

Drama:
V for Vendetta
Sentinel
Lucky Number Sleven

Comedy:
Shes the Man
Fun with Dick and Jane

Always have a backup. It doesn't seem like you are controlling the date either. Let her plan the next date. Also, watch football, if there is a blowout or no good games on, watch a movie or take her out somewhere.

I think that having a backup is a good idea. I usually suggest a "night in" as the second date because it affords a better chance to feel comfortable around the girl and for her to get used to being close to you and alone with you. Cooking dinner, watching a movie under a blanket. Seems like you got that down already. Bring another movie just in case, but otherwise go for it.

Sound slike a good date, she prob doent like football but want to share your interest. Do the picnic first and then do want she wants to do. Not a chick flick gthough as that means staying in and not talking. Take her out and make her laugh!

If she doesn't know too much bout football, she will get bored after a while. Leave early and go for some ice cream and talk about what she saw and didn't understand. It's time to communicate.

I think she's just being nice. But she obviously wants to be with you, so it doesn't really matter. Just don't go on about football for the next few months.
