I am in tenth grade and am currently taking Math B1, which is the second course of algebra I believe...(Freshman take Math A2, sophomores B1, etc.) I recently got a 44 on my first test which was only on proofs of congruent triangles. I have been bad at math all my life, for as long as I can remember. I dont think Ive ever gotten a quarter-end grade higher than an 80. My teacher this year is Asian, and I can barely understand her. Because I did badly in math in 8th grade and 9th grade, I take a Math Extension Program (Its like an in-school math extra help) every other day during my 8th period. I study hard, pay attention in class, and yet I still cannot succeed in Math. I am an average-great student in other subjects. Is it possible for someone to bad at math no matter what they do? I cant go on like this.

It is possible for someone to just plain be horrible in math but it does not mean that you have to fail. It sounds like you are trying to get extra help but it does not sound like it is working...maybe you need to get extra help from someone else whom you can better understand. Talk to your school guidance councelor and they can point you in the right direction. Some people just need more explaining than others...study and do the best you can...that is all that can be asked of you...good luck

I am exeptionally well at math, but I know from experience that math can be tough in some cases. When I was younger, I didn't understand math as well because I didn't exactly have the help I needed. What you need is someone that maybe can explain it to you. A tutor might help you a lot because you're head-to-head with that person...it's not like listening to a teacher who's talking to a whole class instead of talking to you and supplying your intellectual needs for you to comprehend it. I would suggest making a friend who you know is doing well in math and ask them for help when it is available.

I'm a senior in high school, and I completely understand your anguish...I'm taking AP Calculus, and have a D already. I know that it's hard, but I recommend really paying attention to note-taking, studying if possible, and DO YOUR HOMEWORK. One of the best things you can do is to stay caught up with the rest of the class. My mistake was in getting behind. But, if none of this helps, go to your teacher as see if extra help can be arranged. If you're serious about passing, you will make the commitment.

I actually have the same problem.I am really bad at biology.I just don't get it.Yes, it is possible that you can be bad in math no matter what you do.Maybe you can try getting a tutor or I think that the best way is to open your book and study.I am a ninth grader, but I take algebra 2(which I think is the same thing that you take).Come up to the teacher and say that you don't get her or ask your parents to help you. Maybe you can try on line sites that will explain it better to you.
Hope it will help you.

Your parents need to get you some type of special tutoring. It might sink in a bit better if you got tutoring from a high school junior or senior, or even a college student. Check with an academic advisor at your school. If you plan on going to college, you'll need to boost those grades, not only for admission to college, but for decent SAT scores (if you take it.)
Good luck!

I got a C in high school geometry...its a sucky class....the best you can do is ask your teacher for help or if a tutor is available. See who else in the class is doing well and study with them. Good luck!!

communicate on your instructor approximately your problems. it could be which you don't be attentive to a thank you to prepare your skills to categories of problems. i used to be failing math till i've got been given help from my instructor. do no longer place self assurance in internet factors too lots, with the aid of fact the way they clarify issues on line won't be the comparable as how your instructor needs you to be attentive to it. sturdy success!
